"Pura Vida" The national motto of Costa Rica means "Pure Life"! With that in mind, DeKing of Hearts grows ONLY the self-regenerating Pejibaye palm tree, commonly referred to as the "peach palm" by the Costa Rican natives. No tree is harvested until it reaches six feet tall , and has produced at least three volunteers, or pups. This ensures a consistent reproduction of the trees without eliminating the natural resource. Your fresh hearts of palm are then shucked to reach the delicate edible center. What was once available only in cans or jars is now available as a delicious fresh product! |
